Paint, papers, engine and a proper test drive: what to look at in twenty minutes.
Paint and body
Look along each panel in daylight. Uneven gaps or a different shade mean repair work. An inspection measures paint thickness on every panel.
Papers
Match the registration book, chassis and engine numbers. Ask for the file and every transfer letter.
Engine and drive
Start it cold. Listen for knocks, look for smoke, and drive over a rough road and at speed.
